Remember the Healthy Green Smoothie recipe I shared last week? Well, I’m all about working with what you got and not having to recreate the wheel. So, I have another quick and easy Valentine’s Day dog treat recipe that you can make along with your healthy green smoothies. Wait for it . . . .

Who needs a sweet heart with all that added sugar when you can have a GREEN heart! That’s right peeps, 2014 is all about being healthy!

Frozen Healthy Green Smoothie Dog Treats

First things first, make sure to check out our Irresistible Healthy Green Smoothie recipe. Once you’ve made your smoothie, take the left over smoothie and poor it into an ice cube tray, and freeze. Seriously, that’s it.

We were feeling the Valentine’s Day spirit, so I made mine into cute little heart shapes using a heart shaped ice cube tray that I got last year at Target. Not feeling the love? Use any ice cube tray you would like! These are perfect for a quick (and healthy) treat OR you can use them in the blender as ice cubes for your healthy green smoothies.

Sweet! I love DIY dog treats. I have chocolate molds, but never thought about using it for a smoothie. That would be a cute idea for ice cubes too.

Well, the ‘month of love’ is almost out the window and I know these were intended for a Valentine’s treat, but you won’t shoot me if I try these out as a random “gift of love” to my little furry friend, right? :P

Thanks for sharing!
