Chuy has taught me so many things and showed me so many Recipes for Moments since we adopted him in 2009. Each and every day is a little bit more special, happier, and fun because of him. Sometimes I look at Chuy and I get so overwhelmed with emotion because of how much I love him and how he inspires me to be a better person. From the moment I saw these pics, I fell in love. You can say I’m a firm believer in love at first sight! I knew Chuy was OUR puppy and he is truly one of those "once in a lifetime" pets. There’s a bond I share with him that I just can’t put into words.
There’s a lot of special moments that I share with Chuy but most of all he’s taught me to appreciate the every day routine of life. After all, most of our life is filled with the “little things” and sprinkled with holidays, birthdays, and big events.
When we got Chuy, I had been working at the same company for seven years. At one point I really loved everything about my job. Towards the end I was miserable and looking for something with more meaning that really inspired me. The first few months that we had Chuy I was working at said company and found myself having to leave him at home all alone. I hated it. It broke my heart. So, I had all of these emotions going on . . . I hated my job, wanted to do something different, and had this little puppy that I wanted to spend all my time with.
I took a leap of faith and quit my job to immerse myself into blogging, social media, and design consulting. It was terrifying because it was the biggest change I ever made. At the same time, it was liberating! Let’s just say, I learned a lot during this transition!!
Fast forward to present day. I’m grateful every single morning that I wake up and get to work from my home, doing what I LOVE, with my little Chuy on my lap. It’s the every day things that are so special to me.
Chuy and I have our daily routine where we make breakfast together, go run around in the yard, take a walk, and get ready for our day in my home office. It’s hard to even imagine how it used to be before Chuy came into our lives. I’ve learned to appreciate the every day “routine” things by taking pictures even when it’s not a special event or holiday. I love to document our time together by taking pics like the ones in this post to capture Chuy in the moment.
Thank you Chuy for making our lives awesome and putting meaning into the "little" things! I love you Little Monster!
