Welcome to the official first day of Fall! I’m so excited because Fall is my absolute favorite season. I love the cooler temps, the leaves, pumpkins, Halloween, the food, the colors, décor, and so much more! Seriously, can you tell I absolutely adore this time of year? It’s also my favorite season because my husband and I were married on October 30th, 2010 and we had a masquerade themed reception. To know me is to know that I LOVE Fall and Halloween! Ok, enough of that!
Since life seems to fly by in the blink of an eye, I think it’s important to make bucket lists of the things you want to do each year or season. To help inspire you, I’ve created a printable Fall Bucket List for Pets and Pet Parents.
Free Pet Printable – Fall Bucket List
Here is my Fall Bucket List for pets and pet parents. If you would like, you can print this out and frame it in an 8 X 10 frame and use a dry erase marker to check these off! Or, print out and keep on your fridge as a reminder of all the “little” things to do this Fall with your pets.
1.Visit the Pumpkin Patch
This is my favorite Fall activity! We have taken Chuy to the pumpkin patch every year since he was a puppy. Most farms are pet friendly as long as your dog is on a leash. Always check before heading out!
2.Bake a Pumpkin Dog Treat
I love pumpkin flavored anything and so does Chuy . . . especially these Pumpkin Cheesecake Dog Treats!
3.Carve a Pumpkin
Think outside the box when it comes to carving and decorating pumpkins. Check out our Chihuahua Silhouette Pumpkin, Glampkins, and Cat Masquerade Pumpkin tutorials.
4.Go Apple Picking
I went apple picking for the first time at Carter Mountain Orchard last year during our anniversary trip to Charlottesville, VA. It was so much fun and we got to take Chuy with us!
5.Make an apple dog treat
You have to make some apple dog treats if you go apple picking, right?! Check out our Frozen Apple Dog Treat Recipe.
6.Go for a Hayride
I’ve been on a few hayrides but never one with Chuy. I’m on the lookout for a dog friendly hayride this year!
7.Take a “Fall Foliage” Walk
Walking in the Fall is awesome for both you and your dog because the weather is great so you don’t have to worry about it being too hot or too cold. Head out to a park with trees to take in the beautiful Fall foliage. Don’t forget your camera! Just because it’s not hot doesn’t mean your dog doesn’t need water. We always take a collapsible travel bowl from Bliss Paws that attaches right to the leash!
8.Fall Picnic at the Park
One of the best parts of Fall is the weather! I love boots and sweaters and NOT sweating off my makeup! This is the perfect time of year to pack some lunch and have a picnic at the park with your pets!
9.Go to a Fall Festival
Find out what festivals are going on in your city. Festivals have so many different sights and sounds so they are fantastic for socializing your pup. Not all festivals are pet friendly though especially if there’s food involved. Just like the other activities, never assume. Call ahead or check the website to confirm.
10.Shop at the Fall Farmer’s Market
Visiting an outdoor dog friendly Farmer’s Market is a fun way to purchase local fruits and vegetables that are in season.
11. Decorate for Fall
My house stays festive from now until the end of the year! Have fun decorating your home for the Fall season.
12.Visit a Pet Friendly Winery
We did a wine tasting when we visited Carter Mountain Orchard last year. There’s seriously nothing better than Fall, Wine, AND time with Chuy!
13.Backyard Bonfire + ’Smores!
Fall nights are perfect for throwing on a hoodie and having a bonfire! Don’t forget the S’mores for the humans. Remember to keep the chocolate away from pets!
14.Make a Pet Costume
I love dressing up for Halloween and of course I can’t forget about Chuy! I like to find costumes that are unique which sometimes means making my own. My Mom always made my Halloween costumes as a kid so maybe that’s where I get that from! If you are feeling creative check out our DIY Pirate Dog Costume and DIY Candy Crush Costume.

Why thank you! It’s a fun time of year!

What a fantastic list! We probably won’t carve a pumpkin. We can’t have bonfires in our yard. And I’m not inclined to make a dog costume. But all those other things look like great fun! I haven’t been to a pumpkin patch in years. Last year, we did pick apples and I loved it. Thanks for the list. 🙂

Oh I love this list – such great ideas. Fall is my favorite season and most of these activities are exactly why. I’m going to try out those two recipes – my dog absolutely loves apples, I have yet to make anything with pumpkin for her so I’m going to try the Pumpkin Cheesecake ones first, they look great.
Aimee Beltran says
Thank you so much! The cheesecake is super popular in my house!

I absolutely love the fall as well and have been getting so excited about it the last couple of weeks! (Probably why I ended up coming across this post!)
We always fit in a fall hike or two but have never tried a pumpkin patch. That is going on our list for sure. I would also like to give a couple of those pumpkin treat recipes i see from your sidebar try. Our boys love pumpkin and I bet they would make the whole house smell amazing!

Fall is the best time of year! Oh I bet they will love those pumpkin treats. Let me know how it turns out!

I love Fall & Halloween too, but this year will be extra special for you since your baby will be born in the Fall too! Hey, did you guys plan it that way?? I know you’re a planner but seriously!? LOL! I definitely want to go on a Hayride this year, as well as a Fall foliage trip, and visit a pet friendly winery! These are 3 things I’ve never done with our dogs. Happy Fall!

I am headed to VA Beach this weekend w. my Pups – any recommendations on dog friendly vineyards or breweries near by we can check out while there?
