This year BlogPaws was held in Tyson’s Corner, VA which is right outside of Washington, DC. Growing up in Virginia Beach, I’ve been to DC more times than I can count. BUT, I had never been there with Chuy before! So the day after the conference was over we swung by DC before driving back to the beach.
You know I love to save money while getting to spend time with Chuy and I was impressed how cheap and easy you can travel in DC with your pup!
Walk the National Mall
You can’t see DC without visiting The National Mall. And no, this isn’t about shopping! Wahh! Put your dog on a leash, get walking, and check out all the gorgeous scenery and monuments DC has to offer!
You can walk to the Capital, Washington Monument, The Whitehouse, The Smithsonian, and so much more! While your dog can’t visit inside the monuments or museums, it still makes for an “irresistible” afternoon! Lots of great picture taking opportunities!
There’s so many cute little benches to stop and take a break or have a picnic by one of the trees!
Eat Lunch from a Food Truck
There are several outdoor restaurants in DC that are dog friendly. However, we decided to grab lunch from one of the many food trucks and ate at a bench along side the National Mall. We had some delicious Greek kabobs and Chuy may or may not have had a bite!
