Chuy turned 5 years old this past Sunday, June 22nd. We’ve had Chuy since he was 6 weeks old so it’s just crazy to me how fast the time has gone by. Birthdays are such a happy time but they are also a reminder of how precious our life here on Earth really is. Some people think birthdays are depressing but not me. It’s a blessing to be here to CELEBRATE another year of life! Pets are a huge part of our lives and I think it’s important to recognize them on their special day too! What’s life if there are no celebrations?
Yesterday I shared this dog birthday cake recipe that I made for Chuy’s 5th birthday. I’m back today with some more pics of his birthday celebration!
Our friend Erika (and Sebastian!) at Sew Doggystyle made Chuy a custom party hat with a matching bow tie and bone for his 5th birthday! How irresistibly cute is that?! She has so many fun and unique styles . . . so be sure to check out her Etsy shop if you’re pet has a birthday coming up!
What’s a birthday without gifts? We got Chuy a couple of new chew toys from PetSmart. This dog is tiny but he can destroy any toy. I have to find things that are extra tough and chew proof! I love these “Happy Birthday” tennis balls from Kong. Chuy loves to play fetch and he literally just destroyed his last ball so these came at the perfect time!
I also got him this Kong chew toy that has an off/on switch for the squeaker. How cool is that?!
It was a rainy morning but we had planned to go to the beach. After all that cake, the sun came back out and we spent the rest of the afternoon at our favorite place, the beach!
I would say Chuy’s 5th birthday was irresistible! How do you celebrate your pet’s birthday? Let us know in the comments below!
