A couple of years ago, I signed up for Amazon Prime so I could try the free 30 day trial for free shipping. Well, I forgot to cancel it and then got “stuck” with it for a year. Well, I’ve recently just renewed for the second time and haven’t looked back since! I’ve definitely gotten my $99 back plus some with all of the money I save. I recommend Amazon Prime for all pet parents.
You can sign up for a free 30 day trial to see if Amazon Prime is for you. Prime includes free 2-day shipping, movies, music, photo storage, and more! After the free trial, Amazon Prime is $99 per year. Is it worth it? Let’s go over the top 10 reasons why every pet parent needs Amazon Prime!
1. Free 2 Day Shipping
I’m a busy person. I don’t always have time to go run errands like picking up dog food or pee pads. I love that I can order pretty much anything on Amazon Prime and receive FREE 2 day shipping!
2. Unlimited Photo Storage
Pet parents take a ton of pics of their pets. Trust me, I would know! Amazon Prime offers free unlimited photo storage from anywhere and any device. For non-members they would pay $12/year for this. You can share this perk with someone else in your household too. Just use the Amazon Photos app to upload and view all of your photos. Once they are backed up, you can delete them from your phone storage.
3. Free Prime Pantry for Pet Necessities
Prime Pantry is an exclusive service for Prime members that allows you to shop for groceries, pet supplies, and household products online. You pay $5.99 to fill up a box of all your products. Then, it gets delivered right to your doorstep. This is so perfect for busy people or if you’re like me and hate going to the grocery store!
With Amazon Prime, you can earn free Prime Pantry credits. During checkout, select the no-rush option and you’ll get your free credit. Yes, that means that you can get a box full of your pet’s necessities shipped to your home for free. Well, you actually have to pay for the products 🙂
4. Late Package? Get a Free Month of Prime
I’ve never had a Prime packaged delivered late. However, it’s comforting to know that if your package is late, you’ll get one free month of Amazon Prime through their guaranteed two day delivery policy.
5. Amazon Prime Music
This is one of my favorite perks. Pandora, who? Amazon Prime gives members access to over a million songs and albums with NO ads! Other streaming services can cost anywhere from $5-10/month.I love listening to music while I’m working or out on a walk with Chuy.
6. Prime Video
Who doesn’t love to snuggle on the couch with their pet and binge watch TV? Amazon Prime members get access to Prime Video which includes thousands of TV shows and movies. Both my husband and I have our own Amazon Fire tablets which are logged into our Prime account which means we can watch any shows or movies on the go!
7. Referral Credits
Trust me, once you go Prime you won’t go back. You’ll want to tell all your friends and family about it. When you do, send them your referral link. When they join and make a purchase of at least $10, you get $5 towards your next Amazon transaction.
8. Same Day Delivery
Can’t wait for free 2-day shipping? Prime members in 27 metro areas receive FREE Same-Day Delivery on qualifying orders over $35. Order in the morning (typically until noon), and your package will be delivered by 9pm, seven days a week. Order in the afternoon or evening, and get FREE One-Day Delivery. This comes in handy when you have a sick pet and can’t leave the house!
9. Free Kindle eBooks
Amazon Prime members receive one free Kindle book per month with the Kindle First program.
10. Early Access to Lighting Deals
Prime Early Access is a feature that gives Prime members 30-minute early access to Lightning Deals on Amazon.com. Amazon Lightning Deals go quickly because they are that irresistible!
There’s so many other perks with Prime that I didn’t even mention here! So, is $99 per year worth it for Amazon Prime? Um, yes! Remember, you can do a free 30 day Amazon Prime trial if you want to try it out first.

Hmmm… I’ve been resisting but may need to try it. I didn’t know about the photo storage thing. I used to have Google Photo backup and loved it because I would still have all my photos if I lost my phone. It’s never worked right for me since Google started messing with G+ and their services though.
