Chuy Chihuahua at the Chesapeake Arboretum & Great Dismal Swamp Trail

Hello, March. Can you believe it? See how quickly the time can fly by? It’s so important to enjoy the “little” things and make life as irresistible as possible. Before you know it we’ll be talking about how we can’t believe it’s almost Christmas.

Since the weather was absolutely gorgeous this weekend, we went out exploring with Chuy. The water is still too cold for kayaking  but perfect for walking. We stopped by the Chesapeake Arboretum and the Great Dismal Swamp Canal Trail. We got in over 6 miles of walking and had a great time! Chuy was exhausted the next morning! That little guy put in work!

Look at these gorgeous flowers. Spring is definitely in the air!

At the end of one of the trails, there are a few benches that look out onto this lake. It’s just a man-made residential lake but helps break up the scenery. Hey, no swimming!

There’s this little creek or ditch that flows along the entirety of the trail. Chuy is a brave Chihuahua! There’s actually another platform underneath of this so it’s not as scary as it looks!

After the Chesapeake Arboretum, we drove out to the Great Dismal Swamp Trail. We even saw a bear named Chessie! All kidding aside there are signs at the beginning of this trail to beware of frequent bear sightings. The trail was really busy so I wasn’t too worried. I’ve been here before when there’s hardly anyone else around and I didn’t make it far down the trail because it freaked me out too much!
