Do you have a hard time brushing your dogs teeth? I know I do when it comes to Chuy! He hates having his teeth brushed. We had his teeth cleaned by the veterinarian once but it made me a nervous wreck. I hate the idea of him going to sleep for a quick teeth cleaning. However, oral care for dogs is vital to their overall health. I recently disovered a new product called Milk-Bone® Brushing Chews. They are a fantastic way to care for your dogs teeth at home. In this post, Ive put together our top 5 reasons why we think Milk-Bone Brushing Chews are irresistible!
1. One Milk-Bone Brushing Chew Daily
If you dont have time to brush your dogs teeth every day, you can give them a yummy Milk-Bone Brushing Chew! When fed daily, Milk-Bone Brushing Chews are clinically proven to be as effective as brushing a dogs teeth twice per week based on the reduction of tartar build-up and bad breath.
2. Nubs and Ridges Like a Toothbrush!
These bones arent flat like a normal treat. They have a 75 degree twist, along with nubs and ridges which are designed to clean down to the gum line like the bristles on a toothbrush, even reaching the back teeth. I like the design of these because it forced Chuy to take his time to eat the entire treat.
3. Reduces Tartar Build-up
Milk-Bone Brushing Chews can help reduce tartar build-up by 80% which is noted right on the packaging. We think thats pretty cool!
4. Veterinary Oral Health Council Seal of Acceptance
We only like to give Chuy treats that we can trust! Milk-Bone Brushing Chews earned the Veterinary Oral Health Councils (VOHC) Seal of Acceptance for effectiveness at controlling tartar. That also earns our seal of approval!
5. Tastes Like a Treat, Cleans Like a Toothbrush
Chuy wanted me to make sure we covered #5! They taste just like a treat but clean just like a toothbrush! These treats aren’t minty but instead have a meaty/chicken smell and Im assuming thats what they taste like too! Chuy just thinks hes getting an irresistible treat but I know Im helping him take care of his teeth. Shhhh! Dont tell him that!
Remember that your veterinarian is your dogs dentist. You should still visit them for a yearly dental checkup in addition to maintaining a daily oral care routine.

SO cute! I don’t give my dog nearly enough dental treats as I should. He’s a pretty lazy lil guy, I think his favorite thing is to just sit on the couch and watch tv with me with his favorite little stuff giraffe!

He’s just too adorable and the king of the product review! Can’t wait to see if Tater will take to these treats. He has had one dental (and not so great teeth) and has a tough time with brushingβ¦so this might be a good between brushing snack!

my springer spaniels favorite activity is swimming – they can’t get enough of the water and love diving for toys

Pug hates having his teeth brushed too. I feed him a bit of raw food daily to help soften the plaque and then use bones and dental chews like these to scrape it off.

My dog loves playing fetch – he will do it for ages and ages.

My cockapoo’s favorite activity is looking out the window for the mailman. When he or she appears she goes into a barking frenzy.

I bought these for Wynston (put them in his Easter basket) and he definitely likes them. It’s interesting, some dental bones he will eat right away, others he will hide and/or chew for a while. Dentastix and Greenies get eaten right up, these Milkbone bones end up in my plants outside!!! Wynston will walk around with it for a while…and much to my dismay yesterday morning, I found him digging in my flowers so he could bury it! He’s never done that before so I wasn’t thrilled. I took the bone out, washed it off, and he took the bone elsewhere. Eventually he ate it.

My dog loves to go hiking. I live just a few miles from Mt. Washington in New Hampshire and there are some great trails here. Also there sre numerous trails all around where I live. So he is quite active.

My dog’s favorite activity is hugging! She’ll walk right up to anyone and headbutt them. She’ll keep her head pressed against you for however long you’re willing to stay in one place. If you kneel down and hug her back, she’ll flop on the floor for a tummy rub/hug combo!

My dog’s favorite activity is eating and then sleeping – just in that order.
