Monday (6/22/15) was Chuy’s 6th birthday! It’s crazy how fast the time has flown by. It seems like just yesterday he was only 6 weeks old when he came home with us. I could get all sentimental and mushy right about now but I’ll spare you. I mean aren’t cute pics more fun anyways?! Make sure to check our Ultimate Guide to Dog Birthday Cake Recipes and 5 Free Ways to Celebrate Your Dog’s Birthday if you are planning your dog’s birthday party!
We always celebrate Chuy’s birthday and this year was no different! Some say my dog is spoiled but I like to call it well taken care and LOVED!
I got Chuy some new toys and treats from PetSmart and Petco with a birthday theme! Chuy dug right into the “Happy Barkday” gift bag of treats and toys!
I get him the same Happy Birthday Squeaker balls from Kong every year. He LOVES these! I also found a Happy Birthday themed Nylabone that tastes like birthday cake! You’ll have to ask Chuy if it really tastes like birthday cake!
Time For Cake?
After the gifts Chuy got to have his “irresistible” birthday treat! Instead of a birthday cake this year I got him a Happy Birthday cookie from Petco and some colorful Festive Dog Donuts. Isn’t everything better with sprinkles?! I just love all of the pretty colors!
Trying to get a pic of Chuy “posing” next to his birthday treats was impossible so I’ll just let you enjoy these Nom Nom pics instead!
Ok, now what are we gonna do?! You got anymore sprinkles?!
Birthday Bash at the Beach!
Just like last year we took Chuy to his favorite place after work . . .the beach! We started with a walk around Pleasure House Point and it was HOT!!!
After the walk we decided to launch our kayaks at the Lynnhaven Boat Ramp. Chuy rides with me on my kayak and he loves it! It’s so cute how he looks around at everything and takes in all the scenery. Kayaking has become my favorite thing to do these days . . .especially now that it’s summer time!
We had an awesome paddle around the sandbars before we paddled into Crab Creek and hung out on the beach for a little bit. I did some crabbing, the husband did some fishing, and Chuy did what he does best: relax!
We ended the night with a delicious crab bake which is my favorite east coast summer dinner! Sorry, Chuy you can’t eat the crabs! It was an amazingly perfect birthday and as Chuy said #BestDayEver!!
