I am a BlogPaws 2015 Conference Ambassador. BlogPaws’ Ambassadors are compensated for their assistance in promoting the BlogPaws Conference but Irresistible Pets only shares information about things we like and believe you will benefit from as well.
In just a few weeks we’ll all be heading to Nashville for the 7th annual BlogPaws conference. As a BlogPaws Ambassador and three year conference veteran, I know a thing or two about what to bring! This is not everything I’ll be packing but these are my ten must have “irresistible” items for the BlogPaws conference!
Before we get started, let me say that if you haven’t booked your BlogPaws 2015 Conference Tickets, do so ASAP! They will sell out! Use my “irresistible” promo code to save 10%: BP15-Amb-Aimee-10
1. Smart Phone
Need I really say more? You NEED a smart phone for a variety of reasons. I use my Note 4 at the conference for taking pics, writing notes, quick emails, social media posting, texting other attendees, and just about everything else you can think of! Be sure to use the hashtag #BlogPaws on all of your posts during the conference. You can also use your smart phone to view the BlogPaws schedule using Sched.org!
2. Mophie or Backup Battery
All of that conference tweeting and ‘gramming will have your phone battery screaming for more juice! There are several charging stations set up at BlogPaws but I think it’s important to have your own backup battery. I am loving my new Mophie battery pack and it works for my phone, tablet, and camera. All I have to do is plug it in and my phone will charge without having to be restrained to a wall charger.
3. Selfie Stick
At a social media conference, you have to be SOCIAL! Taking pics and sharing them across your social media accounts is a great way to create a buzz, get your readers involved, and to engage with the brands and bloggers at the conference. I use a Note 4 so it’s a little difficult to take selfies because of the size of my phone. I’m in love with my selfie stick after we tried it out for the first time at the beach. It’s perfect for taking group shots with people and pets! Can I also just say it’s pretty amazing for capturing floor shots on pets in-action!
4. Mini Laptop or Tablet
I don’t like to cart my big laptop around at conferences because it’s heavy, bulky, and quite frankly I won’t use it. However, I like to have the ability to use something other than my phone to write blog posts, emails, upload pics, etc. I will be taking my HP Stream which can do all of the above but it’s cute and compact!
5. Business Cards
Don’t leave home without the business cards! Hand them out to every single brand, blogger, and speaker that you interact with! Make sure your business cards have your name, email address, blog name, URL, social media accounts. Make them memorable and consistent with your branding!
6. Hole Punch + Binder Rings
You are probably wondering what in the heck this is all about? Not only will you be giving out a ton of business cards, you will receive a bunch too! The best way to organize these and make sure they don’t end up all over the place is to use a hole punch and binder ring. Each time I get a new business card, I punch a hole in the side and then hang them on a binder ring. Boom! It keeps all of the cards together so I don’t lose anything!
7. Notebook + Pens
As tech savvy as I am, I still like to use a REAL notebook and pens to take notes. There are usually a few of these in the swag bags but I prefer to have my own.
8. Mints
Mints aren’t very “techy” but it’s a necessity when at a conference. You will be in close proximity to many people and remember I said this is a SOCIAL event? Pack a container of mints and keep it in your purse. Just remember to keep them away from pets because they can be toxic if ingested.
9. Laptop Purse/Bag
So you’ll probably need a bag to carry around all of those techy things, right? I was WAY over due for a new laptop bag and I recently found this “irresistible” leopard print purse/laptop bag on Amazon. There’s only a few weeks left until the conference so I would recommend using Amazon Prime so you can get free two day shipping! You can try it free for a month and cancel before the trial ends if you don’t want to pay for the rest of the year.
10. A Glam Kit
Obviously this list doesn’t include all of the personal necessities that you’ll need. I don’t even have time to list out all of those here! Remember that you are going to be meeting a ton of new people and taking lots of pics! First impressions count! People say that looks don’t matter but I think those people are full of it. They do matter when you are representing YOUR brand and business! That doesn’t mean you have to be a glammed up super model. It means that you need to look and feel your best to make sure that you are reppin’ yo brand! I always keep a chapstick, lipgloss, compact mirror, powder, etc in my conference bag at all times! When I look good, I feel good!
So, Chuy and I want to know if we will see YOU in Nashville?!

What a great way to keep all the business cards! It is always great to hear the voice of experience when planning for these kind of things. (I don’t think I can make it this year, but hopefully the stars will align for next year.)

Great list! I also like to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated, a granola bar or two so I don’t get hangry (trust me you don’t want to see it), and an extension cord just in case!

I’ll be bringing my Boston terrier (Sinead) to Nashville, and this will be our first BlogPaws conference! I’m so excited to meet everyone.

Great list – I’m digging the binder ring for the cards. That’s a great idea just to hang onto cards. Love it!

You have the Note 4? Jealous. I have the Note 3 and would like to upgrade but I am not done paying this one off yet.
Great tips BTW.
