I’ve partnered with Consumer Crafts to help spread Random “Crafts” of Kindness this holiday season. When I was thinking about who I would create a gift for, I decided I would do something for the dogs at the Virginia Beach Animal Care and Adoption Center. There are so many pets that are looking for FURever homes this holiday season and can always use some extra TLC. I knew that some sort of DIY pet project would be perfect for these dogs in need!
I made little tote bags and filled them with homemade Christmas cookie dog treats that I baked. I figured they can either give them to the dogs at the shelter or send a bag home with the newly adopted dogs and their new parents. Plus these mini tote bags will come in handy for holding treats during training sessions!

Instructions – How to Make Dog Treat Tote Bags
These dog treat tote bags are super easy to make and only take a few minutes.
I used a mini craft iron for my project but you could use a regular iron too if that’s all you have. These mini irons really come in handy for projects like this!
I recommend following the instructions for your specific iron on transfers. Mine were really easy to use and took about 60 seconds to adhere.
Using the craft iron, place the rough side of the iron on transfer down and iron for about 60 seconds.
Allow the iron-on to cool off before trying to peel it off. Once it’s cool, carefully start to pull back the top layer of paper. The key word is carefully!
Now that your dog treat tote bags are complete, you can fill them with anything you would like. I stuffed them with homemade Christmas cookies (for dogs of course!) and a letter that included the recipe.
I wrapped about 4 or 5 cookies in saran wrap and baker’s twine to look like a piece of Christmas candy!
I included this letter that provides the Christmas Cookie Dog Treat recipe.
I delivered these to the Virginia Beach Animal Care Center. I sure hope they enjoy the irresistible treats!
